Young Persons Unit workshop with SMP

The Social Media Partnership were delighted to welcome the Young Persons Unit from University Hospitals Birmingham for a design workshop.

The young people will be designing a new wesbsite in conjuction with SMP as part of an accreditied course improving communication and skills around digital awareness.   The website will be vital in assuring new patients aged 16-21 have an understanding about the wards, staff and the support information they require.

Teenage and Young Adult Service Workshop

Ian Hughes from The Social Media Partnership said “It has been a pleasure to be with the young people and start the web project, to create something that is designed to support teenage users at one of the most traumatic times of their lives.  Social Media is integral to this project, and being a hospital confidentiality is key so will be a challenge for us.”

University Hospitals Birmingham are one of the very few hospitals in the UK that have created a space for its young people, and understand the importance of creating a more open and friendly online atmosphere for its younger patients and importantly a space for normality, understanding and support.
