The Social Media Partnership

A not for profit social enterprise

Brief

The brief from the Social Breakfast team was to create a platform that young people would want to use to engage users online.  How could we connect young people together, and influence government at the same time using the latest technology available?

Solution

The Social Media Partnership launched a website that is fully self managed by young people.  Users simply log in using Facebook, Twitter or their normal email provider such as gmail.  The website then offers them a platform to share ideas, imagery, and video in any way they wish to express opinion

Outcome

Launched in the House of Commons, the website has been a great success and has received support from all of the main party leaders. In its early stages young people have been given the opportunity to interview NHS Chief Executive Sir David Nicholson and Green Party leader Caroline Lucas.  The project has also received support from Virgin Trains who provided a carriage in the build up to the election for the socialbreakfast team for debate and interviews with politicians from various constituencies.

Social Breakfast

A web site built for young people to who want to make their life, their community and their world better. The Social Breakfast site enables its users to campaign and connect to decision makers and politicians.
